4 2009-11-03T14:22:20+11:00 false This is Lucky Lady my squirrel. I found her in my garden on the first day of October crying her great big sulky tears. Seems she was in my neighbors tree when the branch broke and she was flung into my garden hurt. I picked her up and placed her on the top rail of my fence - no I didn't wear gloves - I pet her every morning. She normally comes every morning to tease my dog Zoey but on this morning she wasn't doing very well. I called the DOW because she was foaming at the mouth. They told me she was in stress and not to worry because squirrels don't carry rabies - they do carry plague & other things. I moved her into a hanging basket full of leaves and let her rest the day away quietly. I was a little worried about the frost due that night so I wrapped the basket with landscaping fiber but around 7pm she went home. The next morning she was back in her basket just long enough to let me know she was ok. She is still getting over her fear of heights, which is kindda funny to watch.
