Saw this little beasty yesterday on the Red Azolla in the bog area - actually in the new pots that are replacing the bog area. It's wings looked misshapen but that may have been the light playing tricks, and it was constantly moving its tail - with the fascinating %(bluebellblue)blue bead% on it - around and in-between the Red Azolla. Laying eggs? Testing the water?

It disappeared but has come back today, and it hung around for a couple of close up shots. A search on google for _dragonfly blue tail tip_ reveals that it is an "Aurora Bluetail Damselfly - Ischnura aurora":http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_dragons/AuroraBluetail.htm

If, like me, you think the blue is unusual, then feast your beady eyes on this one - "Common Bluetail Damselfly - Ischnura heterosticta":http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_dragons/BlueTail.htm

Magnificent!
