moved a mouse melon inside. I know that mouse melons are perennial in warm climates, which is really the biggest reason I'm growing them, but I don't know the best way to overwinter them here. don't know whether moisture level or temperature or light level will cause dormancy, or if dormancy is even what I want. further complicating things is that when I left town for a couple of weeks, my plant sitter didn't water these and the vines looked dead. I watered them and new leaves formed. did I bring them out of a drought-induced dormancy? will putting them back into dormancy so soon cause trouble?
<br>
I've seen a couple vague references to tubers and caudices, but nothing terribly helpful. I'll leave the other plant outside a little longer, then bring it inside, too. may water one and not the other and hope for the best.
<br>
also brought my chufa inside for some extra tuber time and potted up a monstera. currently camera-free, so no photos.
