My dad helped me harvest all the tomatoes and eggplants and rip out the plants. This was after he helped me harvest what myfolia tells me is 140 lbs of squash. I separated the tomatoes that looked like they would ripen from the ones that looked like they would never ripen. That means 4 quarts of green tomatoes in the freezer.

Then we harvested all the basil. Some of it had frost damage but most of it is salvagable. My mom is helping me make pesto with it as we speak. My back is slightly tweaked so I'm doing important journaling as a break before I dive back into prepping.

We also found any longbeans lurking on the plants and picked them. Then we cut down the longbeans. We got rid of the tomato foliage but the longbean leaves and vines we cut down and left on the beds. Partly we were too tired to do anything else with them. Partly, I have a hard time getting mulch and they may be just the thing so there's no sense in prematurely composting them. My mom shelled all the dried longbeans; there are a few left that need to dry further so I'll post the final dried bean photo in some other journal.

He also helped me pull up all the peppers, roots and all. I've hung the peppers in the basement. Fortunately we've managed to eat enough garlic to make space for them, but it was a tight squeeze.

The broccoli is still going but I'm not making a new journal just for it. The only sign that remains of my tender veggies is the bean teepee, which I had to leave up because I had to stake the brussels sprouts and the stake for the brussels sprout started to fall over so I tied it to the teepee. That's planning ahead for you.
