All four sprouted
Saturday, 03 Oct 09 Overcast 17°C / 63°F
The forth of the first round of ruby lou potatoes has just sprouted. The atlantics are not doing as well, only one of four is up, and much smaller than the counterparts that sprouted at the same time.
Interestingly (to me), the remaining tubers, most of which I planted today, showed the same pattern ie the ruby lous looked healthier, with small happy shoots (chits?), while the atlantics largely were more shrivelled and had very long stalks.
Just for my reminder, two chits fell off the ruby lou tubers as I was digging them in – the 1st and 3rd in the row furthest from the house. Just curious to see what difference it makes.
