  <description>I made herb logs today.  I read about them on &lt;a href=&quot;http://awaytogarden.com/growing-and-storing-a-year-of-parsley&quot;&gt;A Way to Garden&lt;/a&gt;.  Basically, you stuff herbs into a ziplock bag, compress them into a log shape, then push out all the air.  Then you freeze them.  To use, you slice off what you want and put the rest back in the freezer.  Directions for making them, with pictures, can be found at that link.

This has been my best year for basil.  I harvested a ton today to freeze, and I have about the same amount again.  I made two logs from it.  Then I made three mini logs of chives, garlic chives and sage.  I'll probably make 2-3 more basil logs before the first frost.</description>
