First time growing Sprouts!
I’ve decided to try growing sprouts. I’ve never even eaten a sprout before, but I’ve been reading how nutritious they are. I’ve been on a bit of a health kick. The grocery stores around here don’t even carry sprouts, so the only way I’ll get to try them is to grown them myself.
I started with Sprouting Snow Peas(Pisum sativum). I followed the directions on the pack. Placed 1 tablespoon of seed in a jam jar and covered with 1 cup of water. Since I didn’t have any muslin I covered the top with a paper towel. The pack says they should be ready in 3-4 days.

What has amazed about sprouts is how many sprouts taste like the finished vegetable. Broccoli sprouts taste like broccoli and radish sprouts taste like radishes.

Mmm, I love sprouts of all sorts. I keep several jars going on the window sill (they don’t need the light, it is just the handy place for me in the kitchen). I can’t do salad or sandwiches without a good heaping of them.
