Another unseasonably cool day-- only 70; normally at this time of year it would be mid-80s. Garden usually peaks around the 17th of this month, but nothing is close to blooming, so we'll see. The vegetables are at that stage where there's really not that much to do, so I focused on the ornamental beds largely to day (with one major exception, in a separate journal).

Moved some plants around-- the baby's breath in particular has been crowding its neighbors, so I moved a larkspur, the spurge and a coneflower out a little ways. Left the lilies where they were, because they look delightful coming up through the veil of the baby's breath.

One of the borages was way under the spirea-- I always forget how large the spirea gets-- so I moved it out into the sun by the cucumbers. In the same area I pulled all the creeping charlie from the cyclone fence and discovered that after all , most of the glads have come up. So I should end up with a wall of dark red glads behind the circular patio, assuming they manage to bloom. (I've never gotten glads to bloom, and they were _very_ slow coming up-- took a month to sprout.)

The mystery flower behind the dragon turns out to be something called "Angelonia Serena Purple":http://www.bradsbedding.com/images/Purple%20med.jpg and apparently I planted it deliberately, because I found the marker (which I had miraculously placed, yay me). No recollection of planting this, but it's in a nice spot.
