11 2009-07-04T06:14:08+10:00 false Last year on June 14 I broke my ankle with only half my garden put in. I sat on my porch, 7 unnavigable steps up, and watched nature take over. No pruning, weeding, or fussing happened for more than a month. What I did instead was join MyFolia and garden vicariously through the many engaged and engaging gardeners here. I learned more in this year about gardening, I think, than I was able to learn hit-or-miss in my more than 20 years of planting. But I also learned how much I actually know about gardening, and how easy it is to ask questions. It's all about the community. If I had ever been able to get out among gardeners and talk, like we talk here, I'd be miles ahead. What Folia inspired in me, then, was not only to join this conversation, but to join many conversations, both virtual and local. I've joined the local garden club, gotten active in on line communities and blogs, and generally taken the garden to a new level. Thank you Nic and Nath, for a great site, and thank you everyone here for a great year. Can't wait to see what happens in Year Two.
