so even though i started my seeds in plenty of time this year (ok maybe a little late), they are no where near where they should be growth wise.

i thought at first they were just taking their time, but then some of them were dieing off right at their leaves (not the first true leaves...the ones that come up first)...the stem would shrivel and then the leaves would go. some of the other ones held on to their baby leaves but never produced the true leaves. both of these, when i pulled them up, had a pretty decent root system.

then i thought, maybe they aren't getting enough nutrients (even though i thought that seedlings have food stored in their baby leaves and don't need fertilized until the true ones come out). so i fertilized with plantea, a sea kelp based fertilizer. it seemed to help a little, but not a ton.

so maybe it was the medium i used, coir.
maybe it was the fertilizing.
maybe it was the watering.
maybe it was the lights.
maybe it was the temperature.

what it comes down to is that i have no clue.
