I love iris. They are one of my favorite plants, bringing back memories of my grandmother’s and my mother’s gardens. There is something so regal about them.
The season is just starting here for the tall bearded versions. Here are some examples of the first blooms of the season
The first picture was taken last week of the buds on my grandmother’s black iris. Then an unknown purchased variety, an unknown variety given to me by my neighbor’s father, a tie-dye iris, from rootstock purchased over ten years ago, and the big show of my grandmother’s iris. It looks as though they’ll be ready to divide next year, right before the big move!
