The potted tomato (provided by one of my downstairs neighbors) is going to be moved to a sunnier location soon (my <a href="http://thesuncalc.com/">SunCalc</a> rated that spot as "Part Shade" which is two notches down from the ideal of "Full Sun" given Boston's climate). The front two rows are made up of very small pansy and lavender bee balm seedlings, which I started from seed and planted out a couple of weeks ago. On the far left are a couple of violets which I transplanted there last year. Behind the pansies are six spotted deadnettle groundcover plants, which I purchased and transplanted on Saturday. Right next to the building there's a beautiful foxglove, which was planted on Sunday by my downstairs neighbors; I think it may need more sun, but we'll see. To the left of the foxglove are a bugleweed which I transplanted from the path of my community garden, and some lily of the valleys and creeping sedum which a fellow community gardener gave me. And to the right of the tree are some johnny-jump-ups which I started from seed and transplanted out at the same time as the pansies and bee balm. The BNAN <a href="http://bostonnatural.org/evtSpringFestival.htm">Perennial Divide Festival</a> is on Saturday, and I'm hoping to get a couple of nice hostas from that to complete the garden.
