I have never been successful with keeping lavender alive. It is a favorite of mine, none the less. I was told last year, that my choice in variety may be to blame. Lavender Munstead is what should be grown in my area. So, I gave it a try. It did not grow much last year. I expected it to die through the winter as they usually do.
Yesterday, I realized it is completely covered in fresh, new growth. This is a wonderful discovery for me. I have Munstead seedlings in the house that will not be planted out until late summer. I'm now tempted to purchase a few more plants and then stagger them with the seedling locations.
I'm so excited.
