Too tall for the plate

The seedlings were getting quite tall, some were touching the cover. I transplanted them to the backyard, in front of the peas, in the flower bed. This way, the peas will grow against the wall, and the carrots will occupy the empty space close to the walkway.

I carefully put the small square of kitchen towel on the ground, covered it with soil while keeping the seedling upright. That was hard! No wonder people recommend that you sow carrots directly. But then, last time when I direct sow, nothing came up. Perhaps next time average the direct sow and kitchen towel methods to presoak-and-sow?
