2 2009-04-06T08:48:17-05:00 false What a great start to the gardening year. My only loss over the winter was a large Aloe Vera which isn't too bad as some of those nights were pretty cold. I have been extremely busy over the last four weeks, relayed part of my front path, dug out a rockery and two small conifers. I managed a little bit of scarifying and re decorated a bedroom. I 've recently bought a new camera so I've been taking lots of photo's of the residents and visitors to my patch. One Sunday afternoon I was surprised to see a Pheasant picking up scraps from under the bird feeder, he stayed for a few hours and then vanished proabably to look for a lady friend. The Grey Heron still visits occasionally but my pond is no longer Heron friendly so he tends just to observe from the garage roof before flying off in disgust. Over winter I have taken out a large Lilac that was begining to dominate a bed which spurred me on to do a complete refurb on quite a large area, about 12ft x 12ft. Up to now I have transplanted four Fuschia and planted a tricolour Hydrangea.
