We finished harvesting our onions about two weeks ago.
We didn’t harvest them all at once, but instead as we needed them, hopped down the stairs, plucked one or two, washed them and cut them up.
As the season went on, the bulbs grew fatter than what you find in the grocery store. However that only added to the flavor.
These are a very sun-loving plant and were kind of temperamental with the watering. The half of the pot that was in the partial shade of the house did not fare too well. Despite this, we still had a great yield of onions. It is truly going to be awful when we have to buy them from the store this winter!
Definitely a must-plant next year!
