<description>The weather had been freezing till this week when it suddenly turned mild.Everyone is disappointed-another Christ mas with no snow.Except me ,I hate it!I guess I must be a fair weather gardener.I have been out tidying though, cutting down the verbena bonsariensis before it seeds itself all over.Indoors the orchids and streptocarpus are the best things, not a sniff of a bud on the christmas cactus! I am sure it must be an easter cactus really. The amazon lilies I brought indoors after discovering they don't die down in winter[since Colombia doesn't have a winter!]are suddenly growing new leaves, much to my amazement. Will they flowerthis spring,I wonder?According to my R.H.S. encyclopedia they flower in sept or oct.It will be interesting to see what happens.
