This is the first ripe strawberry I’ve seen in AGES, since mid-spring at least- although all the strawberry plants are now loaded with flowers & developing fruit. It grew surprisingly large & perfect for the strawberries in this bunch, which generally tend more towards the small & irregularly shaped. I had a lovely time watching it turn from pink to perfectly red in the course of a day, then I picked it and ate it before I could take a photograph.
