First winter

The Grow Dome hasn’t stayed completely above freezing for the whole winter – there was one very cold morning when ice was starting to form on the ponds. However, there’s been no frost damage to any of the plants and even the coriander has survived.

There were a couple of casualties – the dragon fruit plants and a couple of sweet pepper seedlings – that didn’t like the cold/ damp, but everything else is fine and I’m starting to harvest the Chinese greens.

For a more detailed run down of the Grow Dome’s first season, listen to episode 49 of the Alternative Kitchen Garden show.
