Moved house and the contract doesn’t begin til next month. Phone is never quite good enough.
Tom and I spent a week in the Lake District (Cumbria, in northern England), then a week in Devon and Cornwall. It was AWESOME!!!
Highlights included climbing Helvellyn and other hills and mountains, as well as forest and heath walks, RHS Rosemoor, the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan – Heligan in particular was marvellous, such a magical place. Now my second favourite garden to Kew. The Gnome Reserve was pretty epic too, hehe. ;)
It’s lovely to be back at work. The Horniman gardens have really flourished in my absence.
At home all plants and GAL snails (see a few journals back) are doing great. I returned to see my Hoya in full bloom at last, and buds on my Zephyr Lily and Cotyledon. :)
You are not forgotten, Folians. <3

“Magical” is indeed pretty much the ONLY word to describe Heligan… It felt like entering a lost world (and I almost expected to see dinosaurs peeking out from behind those astonishing tree ferns!). Pretty much everyone I know who have been to both preferred it to The Eden Project (although they ARE totally different experiences)… Ashamed to admit I’ve never been to Kew

I am glad to hear how much you enjoyed yourself. Well deserved. I visited Kew quite a lot when I was living in England. Also went to the Eden Project. Never went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan or the Gnome Reserve so I must go back at some point. I really enjoyed my time in the UK. Reminiscence!!!! Take care
