Some views of the garden on a friday morning, on what promises to be a splendid day. I was discussing our weather with a visitor from Ohio, and bemoaning our “50 minute summer” (number of minutes so far above 80 F) and he laughed and said "I dont think we have had that many below 80 ". He still rides his bike or runs every morning which i find stalwart.
This weekend is promising to be truly warm, temps in the high 80s, and i expect to get some large ripe tomatoes out of it. We have had 12 dry days in a row and the forecast is for more of the same, however most days we have had a marine layer of clouds cooling us off. Not today, and appearently not this weekend! According to Cliff Mass this is due to an occasional miracle called a thermal trough.

Lovely gardens and I find your bistort extremely interesting. Mine produces a ‘fluffier’, pink bloom.

Holy thermal trough! Your gardens are spectacular – and their names always make me laugh too. Love the way you have so much spilling forth. So many different perspectives and to this eye, each area has its own interesting character. I’m full of admiration – and slightly envious.

Ditto. I love LouiseM’s “Holy Thermal Trough” and I would like to add “Batman” to the end of that statement.
Your gardens are lovely. Green with envy and makes me want to eat Nutello right out of the jar with a spoon. Oh, wait – I’m already doing that and can’t blame you for my lack of sound judgment.
