I grew up with airplanes, my father is a pilot and two brothers are also pilots. My brother Chris flew his little plane up from Atlanta for the week and before he left today to head back he took Tom and I up for a ride.
Tom has not been in a plane since 1995 and never in a small plane so today was an adventure for him. Me…nothing new, I have been flying in little planes since I was a kid, it’s just natural for me. I had more fun seeing how excited he was to go flying!
Anyway, wanted to share some great pictures from our trip today with a view of my gardens from the air!
Photo 1 – Aerial View
Photo 2 – Pre-flight checks (brother on the left, Tom on the right)
Photo 3 – Take off! Tom was fascinated
Photo 4 – The landing, Chris was trying to convince Tom to land the plane!

Ah, great shots. I can now see where the lake fits in to it all – it’s indeed a major feature!

@HollyBee – Thanks! It was a good time, Tom is still talking about it!
@graibeard – Yes the lake is a major feature, it’s about 120 acre glacial lake, we water the gardens with the lake water.
@anelson – We like about 20 miles in all directions from any major town, in the middle of farmland! I love country living!

Neat! I didn’t realize you lived on a lake. It’s always exciting to see everything from above.
