We got some rain too, but a week later I find myself standing in the garden saying “please sir, I want some more [rain]”!

Oh dear, HazelJ … does that mean you didn’t get any from that cloud cover yesterday? We did get a sprinkle, but that was all. We even hung laundry on the clothesline hoping the clouds would get the idea, but it didn’t help much!

Nope no rain since the big storm. I seem to be in an odd area where storms move either north or south and I’m not left with much. Lately I’ve been trying to water when they predict rain with a POP of 60% or more (since in the city it always seemed to rain anytime I gave up all hope of rain and watered throughly). I’ve also tried hanging laundry out (even heavy towels!) to dry in the hopes that it would bucket down but no luck there either. If we’re going to keep getting summers like this I’m going to have to figure out a better watering system. The forecast is saying 20-30mm for Sunday though, so I’m hopeful that I’ll get at least some of that storm system. I’m also hoping that it falls gradually enough to really soak in an not run off.
