I am watering every other day now, drip hose, hand hose for containers and parts of the garden. Interestingly the airport temperature is 7C cooler, that is probably influenced by the river which must be getting a lot of snow melt in this warm weather. I remembered to take my camera when I went to the Post Office to get mail, and even standing back from the river on the high bank I could feel coolness coming off the water. So the first photo is the submerged islands, one is called Christmas Is., I am not sure whether the other has a name.

It was lovely yesterday evening in the garden, the mozzies did not come out until late and I did a little weeding and made hangers and then put up two lanterns I had made. They went up on the arches with tea lights inside. Not very successful as we tend to get a cooling breeze rolling down the mountain in the evening which blew the tea lights out. I relit the smaller one and it was still burning when I went to bed. Not a very successful experiment, the lanterns are better indoors where the piercings throw pretty light patterns on the walls.
