I had a long established Acer in this corner, but the cold got it last winter. Shredded the bark and it had to go.
So I have a gap to fill. The big beech behind it shelters it from the east, it’s exposed to the south, there’s another lower hedge protecting it and lying to the north, and the houses is a couple of yards away and protecting it to the west.
Another Acer? Suggestions would be very welcome.
