Things have been insanely busy the last couple of weeks. We had 6 visitors from England staying with us for a couple of weeks. We went to the CN Tower, Niagara, St.Jacobs… all of the usual tourist excursions. We ate too much, drank too much & weeded too little. So here is the update:
Harvesting: onion, garlic, hot & sweet peppers, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, bush beans, baby carrots, tomatillos, cilantro, dill, lovage, rosemary, basil, english peas, potatoes, swiss chard & lettuce. Mmmm… Eating Ronde Du Nice stuffed with Chocolate Cherry & Sungold tomatoes, basil, feta & olive oil.
Keeping up with the watering is difficult as my system broke down at the main joint a few weeks ago & I haven’t had a chance to fix it… We have had a few milimetres of rain one evening last week – other than that drought. Hopefully tonight I will be able to fix the pipes. Only 1 problem. It is 11 in the morning and already 37C. Should hit near 50 with the humidex. Don’t think that I will be doing much of anything outside other than floating in the pool.
