I attended the Santa Barbara Orchid Fair yesterday with my significant other. It was supposed to be our only stop on the way for a surprise visit to the Mapa but it turned out to be the only stop. The above mention Mapa were headed out of town for their own pleasure. Bah humbug! Next time~
But I was not too bummed out on the opportunity to spend time with my beloved parents (for many reasons but mostly) because I had just acquired 7 new orchids! $300 dollars later and still happy.
My most expensive orchid of the mix was #1 on my wishlist: Neofinetia falcata ‘Hisui.’ And I got it whilst in bloom! Sprays of green flowers… And it has a strong fragrance for a little flower. Who doesn’t love green?
I also got another green flowered orchid Neofinetia falcata ‘Suikaden.’ Very excited for this itty bitty to bloom.
I also acquired an oriental Cymbidium from one of the vendors there. Finally! An orchid to hail back to my culture and my people. Ish.
The rest of my acquisitions are minis to add to my orchid tree. A few more and it will be complete. So excited!
