After a week or so of rain it was nice to get out in the garden today. It was Keith’s fortnightly session and we cleared the pagola/nectarine tree bed. He moved the little paving path so I didn’t keep banging my head on the nectarine tree and took the trellis away to fix. A couple of weeks ago he dug out the baby kiwifruit which tasted dreadful and wrecked the trellis into the bargain. When it’s repaired I’ll plant some sweetpeas. Keith also dug over the strawberry bed so I can get on to planting that up.
A number of little jobs got tackled. Something has been eating the bokchoy – don’t think its snails as I’ve put down loads of bait maybe birds. So I covered it with a netting tunnel and we’ll see if that does the trick. Three of the brassicas I’d put in were also being eaten so I made some little barriers with milk bottles so we’ll see how those go.
