Despite a miserable weather forecast, today was pleasant with lots of sun and only one heavy shower.
The Thymes are beginning to bloom, they are another plant which has no trouble growing in my garden and which I periodically cut back heavily.
The new Delphinium Pagan Purples, which came with a flower stem is blooming, nice colour but not as gorgeous as the blue ones.
The mystery plant which sprang up beside one of the day lilies at the north end of Drive turns out to be a daylily, but does that stalk belong to the lily beside it which is Peaceful Prairie? Why did it come up so early, at least a month ago? The flower is not fully petaled and seems a bit more yellow than I remember Peaceful Prairie, on the other hand it does have a slight peachy colour and a frilled edge to the petal. Still a mystery until the other buds open, Peaceful Prairie is a late bloomer after Tangerine Twist which has only put up a flower stem in the last week.

The Dianthus plumarius is a beautiful shade! Thanks for sharing these – and if you’re sick of the rain the Northeast could use some!
