The Kidney Garden is too wide to maintain with two paths that run east/west. They are narrow, but enable me to place a foot down without the fear I’m stepping on a plant. The earth gets compacted but because it is rock free for at lease a shovel’s depth, I can quickly turn them over and eliminate the weeds that inevitably and opportunistically take hold.

I dont’ do this in any of my other gardens as they are more narrow or can be reached from both sides of their lengths.

Looks nice.
