Lots of work in the garden the last few days as the temps have dropped and it is nice and comfortable to work out there. Has been very windy and seems that the wind has blown the hot and humid weather back at us…It starts again tomorrow. Good job I have some books lined up….I plan to stay nice and cool in the A/C.
.
major trimming of the neighbour’s overhanging spruce tree branches.
dug out several volunteer maple trees that had grown way to big
dug out two volunteer honeysuckle shrubs.
hacked back a clematis tangutica that had taken over a fence
weeded and removed some scraggly perennials in the back corner garden
tranplanted a piece of ’mom’s’ hosta into the back corner garden
planted out two big WS HOS of aqueligia ‘cerulea’ (on either side of the hosta)
transplanted a NOID astilbe from the DBR garden to the back corner by the hosta—I ‘think’ it is either peach or mauve.
planted out a purchased ‘cup and saucer’ plant (back corner by the fence)
transplanted the pale pink peony from the trailer to the back fence garden
transplanted the burgundy iris from the trailer-beside the pale pink peony
planted out two purchased heucheras—dale’s strain and rosy bells(?)—east fence garden
planted out honey melon sage in the east fence garden—from the 2012 swap
transplanted the aster (alma plotchke ?) from the front porch garden to the east fence garden
tranplanted a sad looking daisy to the back corner garden from the east fence garden
planted out a daylily-trahlyta to the east fence garden (from the swap)
planted a pot of poet’s narcissus in the east fence garden
potted up the larger of the redbud sapliings into a larger pot.
potted up the snowball bush cutting that had rooted in my rooting bucket.
watered, watered and watered!!
.
lots of other happenings but just can’t think of them right now. I need to get used to making myself journal while things are fresh in my mind, but by the time I am done for the day and come in, I am just too tired to do much except read a few posts and give some thumbs up. :-)

A couple of pics that are a few weeks old. The climbing hydrangea on my fence (actually belongs to my neighbour but has grown totally on my side) and a bonica rose
