Aside from the colour purple, my other ‘addiction’ is to old-fashioned, David Austin roses. When they are in bloom, I almost want to just stand and stare at them for hours at a time. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and this eye perceives them as the ultimate rose in shape and form.

And the fragrance. I wish I could capture it in a little bottle. Particularly ‘Jude the Obscure’ which smells likes lemons and guavas and oranges – sort of. It’s a unique scent. This year I am going to try to dry the petals as they don’t last well as cut flowers. That’s if, I remember.

Main Photo: ‘Jude the Obscure’ rose, whose scent is incomparable.

Photo 1: ‘Sweet Juliet’ rose, lovely too.
Photo 2: Oretti Lass dahlias which I love – they bloom early and freely.
Photo 3: Can’t help myself: I have a love for this rose too.
Photo 4: And here comes my Summer blooming Polish-lady clematis.

Stunning rose! Looks very similar to ‘Tea Clipper’, also from David Austin:

That’s an awesome dahlia too. :)

I have to agree with you about David Austin roses, I have Graham Thomas and A Shropshire Lad and they are outstandingly beautiful.

That ‘Jude the Obscure’ rose looks so pretty and with a fabulous sounding fragrance too. I went to go look up where I could get one but it looks like it’s only hardy to zone 5, so I’ll have to stick to admiring yours on folia. Thanks for sharing the great photos!
