A friend researched the particulars I gave her about the nest I found…containing 4 eggs, where it was located (on the ground in tall grass/weeds), the color of the bird I saw in a fleeting moment (rust) and her size in general….smaller than a robin.
The bird sitting on those eggs is a Veery also known as a Spotted Thrush.
I’m so happy to know.
