Someone took all of the strawberries in my patch, which on Friday looked like they’d be ready today. Forget renovating the patch, I’m just going to tear the plants out. Theft at the community garden is rampant, the worst it’s been in the four years since I joined. Salad greens, leeks, and garlic seem to be the only things that don’t get stolen.
We decided to put up more signage around the garden to remind people that the produce belongs to the gardeners, and the plants in the common beds are for everyone to enjoy (someone’s taken $200.00 worth of heather from one of the beds).
