Peonies are in full bloom… at least a week early, I think. This, of course, means heavy rain will come. Always happens, it seems. Oh well… more peonies for the house.
The vase contains Gilbert Wild, Red Magic & Festiva Maxima. All three are supposidly fragrant and while the second two have a delightful rose scent, Gilbert Wild has a somewhat chemically kind of scent. There’s scent all right… I just don’t particulary care for it. But the other two have made up for it in
spades and the entire living room is filled with the scent of rugosa roses.
I thought Duchess de Nemours was white but mine is soft pink. I’m wondering if it was mislabled. Likely so…

Peonies are such beautiful flowers & yours are no exception! I was watching a gardening programme on the BBC a couple of days ago & it was being held at a gardening show. We were shown some very lovely Peonies there! If I had a garden, instead of a balcony, I think I’d like to grow them!

Just drooling over my keyboard looking at these. To say they’re exquisite scarcely seems adequate….
