I heard them before I saw them.
And then I caught fleeting glimpses of them in the old apple tree.
The hummingbirds are back!
Joy unconfined.
Despite our current weather – wet and heavily overcast – both the hummers and some plants in the garden seem happy. First early clematis is out, the rhodos are in full flood and several flowers already on one of the roses.
The orange azalea “tree” has exploded with blooms this year. I’ve “owned” it for 6 years and up till now, it’s been lacklustre. The colour of the flowers is breathtaking – it gets to stay!
Main Photo: The colour orange may just be my new purple!
Photo 1: H.F. Young clematis just getting going.
Photo 2: The other “half” of my favourite rhodo.
Photo 3: Bronze Fennel planted last year – I’m bizarrely excited about the texture!
Photo 4: My solitary pink peony bush looks like it will produce a bumper crop this year.
