We are opening a 2.3m project in the public gardens where I work, so please excuse a poor show on Folia. Our apprentice has one more day of it (and that’s the posh evening do where I have to mingle) and then things calm down. It’s manic right now.
I still love my job though. ;)
But I have milestones to update here, as things are happening in my own garden, of course.
I’m particularly excited about the little Phalaenopsis orchid I got in a bargain bin in Morrisons last Xmas. A new raceme is forming, and I predict blooms in Jul-Aug. This is one I repotted (oh no! fiddling with orchids is a sin, right?) and it has also since grown a new leaf.

The rose is a beautiful colour, Tralamander! Your plants are doing very well! Hope the “Do” at the Horniman’s went off well for you. It’s always great to hear someone say they love their work!

So lovely! I loved working at a botanical garden, too. I just didn’t expect the same kind of nasty politics that plagued public corporations.

Thank you anelson! :)
And thanks KathN, the Tea Clipper is a David Austen rose. It was named such to celebrate the anniversary of the death of FJ Horniman. We grow them at the Horniman Museum and there was a surplus so I have a few in my own garden.
Thanks orientallily, glad you like it.
Amarylis, the “Do” went very well, but my head was worse off the next morning! ;) I’m going to make a journal at some point today about how well the grand opening went. Thank you.
Thanks, rosemariegardener, very kind.
flowerweaver, you put it so well there! It all comes down to money at the end of the day… apart from the meek gardeners themselves who get on with it behind the scenes. I guess we are lucky. :)
