Poor Lily. First I thought I killed her last year, then she came back this year, and now she is battling several different nasties. I’ve seen what seemed to be Scarlet Lily Beetles on her, and, I’ve been removing what, I suspect, are their eggs and larva. I went out this morning and checked and found what I think are a few much bigger larva and a couple slugs.
I took off the leaves with the larva and a couple other leaves and put them into a jar, we’ll see what they become… (For Science!)":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeydjADyM7U

Disgusting indeed! I picked the slugs off with my bare hands, but I didn’t want to touch those larvae and their “frass” covering.
Fortunately, the plant seems to be doing ok despite the attack, but I’ve been pretty diligent about picking off any traces of these critters for the last couple of weeks.

Isn’t there a post about this creature in the pests group? Sorry about your lily. We are going to have a slug/snail invasion this year. I feel it in my bones and underneath my toes.
