I haven’t updated in a few days. Things are moving along rapidly in the garden. All the tomato plants are growing well. The heirloom is really coming up. The roma is getting huge and in the last day or two started to show it’s first fruits. The better boys are showing flowers, but no fruits yet. The pepper is showing flowers. And the parsley, cilantro and basil are coming strong.
I fertilized the tomatoes today with Tomato Tone. About 3-4 tbsp around each plant. Then I watered. Actually, I watered this morning and this afternoon, and now they’ll get rain. I’m afraid that might be too much. Oh well.
The tomatoes are getting big now and so they need some support. Priscilla and I bought some garden stakes and took some rope and made some trellises. The hope is that the tomato will weave in between the ropes and grow up with some support. We probably didn’t do this the right way, but oh well. We’ll learn. I think it may be a little late. We should have started earlier for the roma at least. But the other plants will do well.
Next thing to learn about is pruning the suckers.
I haven’t put any photos, so here they are.

Day 25
Solanum lycopersicum This is the new roma. Kind of yellow right now. Not looking so hot. I think used too much fertilizer. Or it may be in shock |
