Planted all kinds of stuff fro the plant sale (great time), as well as my roses. Kind of muggy and hot—rainy this morning, then clear and lovely. Got a picture this morning of a praying mantis, er, nest or whatever that had just busted open. Pretty cool. I politely directed the fine young mantises toward the Supposing the Roses garden, letting them know we had some very fine aphid infestations for their first course.

I have since spotted a couple of these guys around the kitchen garden (pretty close to where they hatched). Tiny as they are, they look at me and put up their dukes. I admire their pluck.
Glad everyone likes the photo!
