Anybody able to identify this from the foliage?
At first I thought it might be rudbeckia, but the leaves are not like my other black-eyed susan plants.
I’m letting it grow out for now because I want to identify it, I figure I can cut it out before it goes to seed if it’s really evil.

whatever it is, it is very common around my yard. I have already pulled a lot of it this year. It pulls out very easily.

I love weeds that pull out easily. I purposely let my lambs quarters and purslane grow a bit before I weed. They keep the BAD weeds like yellow cress from getting a foothold or at least that’s what I tell myself.

Yep, it’s Conzya sumatrensis aka flea bane. As soon as I read the description Tralamander linked I remembered I’d seen it before. The foliage is similar to daisies which I think are in the same family. I’ve let it grow in the past because the flowers are pretty – and who knows when I might need to spread rushes all over my floors to keep the fleas away like they did in Medieval times, right? Seeing that photo reminded me, though, that they are prolific and invasive reseeders. I will have to keep a close eye and cut them down before they go to seed if I want to enjoy the flowers.

Any chance it would keep flea beetles away from my eggplant?
