We’re on about week 5 of the seedlings project at the high school where I volunteer. The plant sale that they are growing these for is in just 12 days, so I was a little worried that we wouldn’t have large enough seedlings, but it looks like they’ll be fine. We’ve got 18 varieties of tomatoes, 2 peppers (the peppers didn’t germinate for some reason), 10 cucurbits, 4 types of basil, and 8 different eggplants.
The kids are amazing, very self-motivated, and just into the task. They’re also putting in 5 raised beds in their courtyard, and some of these plants will go in there as well. Additional ones will go to the “Grow2Give” beds at the Peterson Garden Project.
