The right hand bed (which I’ve watered) is reddening up, and sending out lots of runners. The left hand bed (which I am not watering) has far, far more berries, but they aren’t reddening as quickly and aren’t sending out nearly as many runners. The left hand bed soil is probably slightly better—more compost.

Sadly strawberry season is mostly over here, although a few always pop out year round. Mine are sending out runners too At the mo, the ones in the hanging basket are almost down to the ground! Determined! They need a little tlc I think :)
I definitely recommend the variety ‘hokowase’ if you can get it , the berries at the height of summer were the best I’ve ever tasted, so sweet!
