I’m envious of your pineapple! Mine, growing in pots, haven’t started to fruit yet. I feel like I should plant them in the ground to get fruit. I can’t help but feel that as beautiful as your amaryllis is, she doesn’t want to feel like the pineapple is getting all the attention, so she’s got to try to get into the picture. Maybe I’m just spending too much time talking to my plants?

I actually bought this from a nursery, in fruit, and I keep mine as a potted plant as well. I was told they do very well as potted plants and, in general, do not require fertilization. I keep this one on the back patio in dappled light all day and I hardly ever even water it b/c it’s so humid – when it rains, the pineapple gets watered :)
The Amaryllis has been the star of the patio – it has been blooming for a month! When the flowers die off, I cut the stalks and new ones emerge! It’s been great to have it blooming for so long :)

Love the potting bench display. I know the pineapple grown here is planted in some pretty poor soil, and the fruit is beautiful. Unfortunately, they are so slow!
