Today we planted a red maple tree in the front yard in memory of all our loved ones that will be watching our wedding from heaven. We purchased it at Aldi’s of all places for $15. I can’t wait to see it grow and develop over the years to come.

I also planted my climbing rose buses from Menards. I dug out the soil and anchored the trellises in the soil leaning against the house and then planted the climbing roses. Hopefully they will do well. I’m excited to see how they develop as I trellis train them.

Seedlings upstairs are still doing well. Will start some more tomorrow to get everything ready for the season. We’ve had such a beautiful spring! Jim also put lime on the garden and our crazy neighbors reported us to the village that we were “constructing a fence without a permit”. I guess fencing a garden with chicken wire is his idea of a fence. Those neighbors are literally crazy. We also placed a bird feeder in the “fenced” garden and I can’t wait to see what birds we get. Still no hummingbird sightings though.
