It’s already the middle of April, and next week I hope to plant out all my starts. Most of them, at least. I was away for a week at the beginning of the month, so I’m feeling quite behind things garden and Folia wise.

It’s so nice to see everything springing out! My Juno irises bloomed, and every year I wonder if this is the one they won’t come back. But they’re doing marvelously! The quince has recovered from its unfortunate accident with the weed whacker two years ago. The lilacs are starting to bud. And my mystery plant (another one) is actually my mukdenia which died back completely this winter. I subsequently forgot about it, and when it came up again—with flowers first!—I couldn’t figure out what the heck it was! Who knew it bloomed?? Awesome.

The green house is coming apace. It should be wholly finished by the end of the month, then I just need a couple of shelves, a table and a chair. I’m looking forward to having a sheltered place to read and write that’s “outside” as well as a place to grow my more tender plants. Also … it just looks cool. My husband, what a crafty guy!

Yesterday, West Seattle Nursery was having their spring Open House, so I and a friend went. New plants have been bought. Is this a surprise? Hopefully I’ll get them all in Folia tomorrow night.

I’m so glad it’s spring.

Lovely blooms and your greenhouse looks like it will be fantastic! Had to laugh at the “Queen of the World” – I have one of those too: a natural-born supervisor.

@seeingreen, My husband is building it, so yes. He asked me what I wanted, and I said a greenhouse made of recycled/reused items as much as possible. We decided on a size, and the rest is all him. He’s really amazing in the construction/design department.
