It could be a tobbaco or tomato hornworm.If you see dark droppings(fras).If it is eating the leaf look for green eggsacks underneath leaves.The bigger they get the more they will eat.They have definite chompers on them.They will hide underneath leaves.The bacco one is brown,the mater one is green.They can devour a whole top of mater stalk when bigger.They morph into a moth.If you see something that looks like a butterfly hovering around your plants it is laying eggs.Ladybugs eat the eggs,Small ones hide in ground during day and come out at night.Check early morning and after sunset for fras and follow.You can nuke the ground around the plant or just check and remove egg sac and hand pick off the worms as you find them.
