Ive continued my primary indoor focus up through Sunday, but I have gotten a few garden things done. I took some time to plant out my broccoli, and repot some for give-aways. I repotted my tomatoes. I planted out my Paris mesclun starts, and the lone mesclun that germinated from the second mesclun sowing. This morning I planted a row of onions and a row of carrots. The veggie garden finally is getting going!

Two of my raspberries have put up a new shoot, but there’s no sign of life from the third. I’m starting to wonder if I should be concerned about it. It feels like the others sprouted ages ago. I just went to look at the dates. I planted them on March 24th, and the first one sprouted on the 3rd of April. The second was just a day or two later, so it really hasn’t been that long, yet.

No shoots yet from the asparagus, but the rhubarb is going gangbusters. I’ve heard not to harvest the first year after dividing, but with a couple dozen stalks already, I think it’ll be safe to harvest at least some of them this year.

On Sunday, I made my first harvest from the garden, cutting a few sprigs from my rosemary for the roast chicken I made!

Yay for harvested rosemary! I wanted to let you know I looked at your plant page for the rosemary, and I would expect a “tuscan blue” to get taller than two feet. I have one on either side of my front gate and the one I planted 2 years ago is pushing four feet already.

Thanks. I mostly just transcribe whatever the tag says. If it gets bigger, I’m cool with that!
