Changes in the new section of the Mexican Jardin

Sunday, 11 Mar 12 Cloudy 11°C / 52°F

1. We hired a gardener (and his wife and their little boy) to dig up the grass and add “tierra negra” to make the final 3 beds for the new garden area.

2. The bed nearest the driveway = strawberry plants as ground cover around (a yet to be bought) citrus tree.

3. Bed nearest house = a perennial chile (Peruviana? Boliviana?) (moved the biggest healthiest of the 3 we have) along with poppies for the ground cover

4. Bed nearest the fence = a lippia bush (lemon verbena, a perennial here that gets very large) with a ground cover of irises
