We took the 6 flats of Basil plants (192 plants) and the 3 flats of mustard plantings (27 pots, 80 plants) and delivered them to the folks tonight who will dress them up for this weekend’s event. This means that my plant stand is mostly empty. I do have 26 basil plants left, (the culls) but the mustards are all gone. Overall, I only lost 6 of the 224 in the pots, but those were due to water management while I was out of town for 4 days.

I’m not sure what milestone to use for the basil, but I can use a “given away” milestone + archive for the mustards.

We took out the center seats in the van, and that gave us enough room to transport the 9 flats of plants. That, to date, is the most (272) plants in the van at a time.

It was snowing when we zipped them out of the vehicle and into the building, and they were slightly unhappy by the time they made it inside. The good part is that when a basil plant is bruised or bumped, it becomes wonderfully aromatic, which kind of makes up for it.

The decoration committee is wrapping each individual paper pot in a plastic and fabric wrapper tomorrow. I’ll probably have to go check out how they look. They should turn out great.

This has been an experiment on whether I could plant basil and mustard 48 days prior to a big event. It worked out well. All attendees will be given their own basil starter to take home.

Nice work! I would have knocked em’ over or fussed so much that I would have killed them all! Congrats – now, as a reward you get to refill the seed starter! (:
